Hi, I'm Max!

Welcome to my portfolio! This site showcases work I've completed over the past 5 years while completing my education and working in the community. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss my work further.

About Me.

I’m 21 years old and hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Media (Marketing & Graphic Design, 2024) from the University of Wollongong. I’ve just returned from a solo travel stint — two weeks exploring New Zealand in November, followed by two incredible months across Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand) from March to May. The experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, strengthened my independence, and gave me a fresh, global perspective I’m excited to bring into my work.

Throughout my studies, I’ve taken part in multiple internships and community-focused projects, particularly those centred on women’s rights and health. I worked closely with the Illawarra Women’s Health Centre, serving as an advisor for their young women’s program. My two internships there led to the creation of a magazine distributed to schools across the Illawarra, as well as an empowerment module now used in their program.

During the first year of my degree, I founded the Young People's Action Alliance in partnership with the IWHC and the Wollongong Youth Centre. This alliance created a space for young people who were passionate about activism to connect and make changes in their communities together. We held and attended various political events and started an online movement known as "Generation Hope".

I was fortunate to be connected with the centre through my Big Picture education which encouraged students to gain real-world experience through internships. In my final year of high school, I was required to develop a graduate portfolio rather than complete an HSC. This portfolio consisted of a Senior Thesis Paper, an autobiography, a community service project and an internship. I then presented this to a university board in a graduate exhibition and was accepted into the University of Wollongong.

Aside from my education, I have gained substantial experience from casual positions. I have worked with the Cotton On Group for the past 4 years, earning the role of shift manager at just 17 years of age. I am entrusted with opening and closing the store, handling financial procedures and delegating tasks to ensure the store operates efficiently.

I love being outdoors, particularly hiking and anything camping or beach-related. When I'm home you will find me curled up with a good book, studying or listening to a podcast. I have a true passion for creativity and innovation in marketing, with a particular interest in aiding brands in effectively conveying their messages and establishing their unique identities. I am eager to translate my educational foundation into practical industry experience.
